Aastra Terminal

DEFINITION: VoIP “Voice over Internet Protocol” also called IP Telephony, Internet telephony, Broadband telephony, Broadband Phone and Voice over Broadband is the routing of voice conversations over the Internet or through any other IP-based network.

DEFINITION: SIP "Session Initiation Protocol” is an application-layer control (signaling) protocol for creating, modifying, and terminating sessions with one or more participants. These sessions include Internet telephone calls, multimedia distribution, and multimedia conferences. A 21st century line!

DEFINITION: ISDN “Integrated Services Digital Network” is a circuit-switched telephone network system, designed to allow digital transmission of voice and data over ordinary telephone copper wires, resulting in better the PSTN system. More broadly, ISDN is a set of protocols allow for many numbers to be allocated to one circuit, typically known as DDi’s.
